Club ELF aims to bridge the gap between East London filmmakers and their audiences. East London is one of the UK's most exciting areas when it comes to both film production and viewing. It's our aim to provide an arena in which we can celebrate this thriving scene, and to document it in a way we can all contribute to. There are many filmmakers across all genres actively making films in East London, and this culture is supported and developed by a well established funding and support network commandeered by the local councils. Club Elf aims to seek out East London's newest filmmakers and artists, and work to try and provide an exhibition space whereby it is possible to gauge what boundaries the East london community can push with their film based efforts. |

Club ELF is in essence a film society, and has been formed through extensive research into how film societies operate across the U.K. The future of the creative industries is being shaped right now to adapt to online platforms, and it is our responsibility to adapt to those changes. Club ELF offers local filmmakers and artists the chance to showcase their work through us, and audiences the chance to see it. Club ELF is devloping a hard copy DVD of local short films which will be available over the next few months to our local communtity, aswell as some specialised screenings at the Genesis Cinema in mile end. Our specialised screenings allow the opportunity for not only independant filmmakers to showcase their stuff on the big screen, but also existing film related communities to feature and run their own showacase as part of Club ELF. |
